1st World Cup, Cancun
Raced my 1st World Cup this past weekend. Executed parts of it perfectly, 3rd out of the water, and other parts not quite so perfectly, sucked wind on the run. I also learned a valuable lesson about positioning going into T2 with 50+ other guys. It was a fun experience and I hope to do more of these in the future, except with better results!
So much fun! I have never raced a swim-bike-run-swim-bike-run format before. It was all over in about 45 minutes. Now that I know what to expect, I would happily do another one. Next time I won't dive in for my 2nd swim while in 2ft. deep water!
All of summer training was designed to set me up for Nationals. I finished 7th amongst the Americans. Not the finish I was hoping for, but injuries have been a bit of a set back.

Kelowna Apple Triathlon
Kelowna was a nice tune up for Buffalo. I love traveling up to Canada to race; it is so clean and beautiful here.
Two sprints in a row! I could get used to this. Many of the Americans make Clermont their first race of the season, so it was a great first look at what the American field has to offer this year. Read the article.

2012 kicks off in La Paz
It was a fast field in La Paz as everyone chasing precious ITU points this Olympic year was out in force. I was 2nd out of the water and then finished as the 3rd American. Good start to the season. Read the article.
First Professional win!
Victory at Panama ITU Pan American Cup! It was hot and sticky in Panama, but the crowds were enthusiastic and I was ready for a great race day. Read the article
Lamar takes 2nd behind Matt Reed at Amica 19.7 Phoenix
1st out of the water! Smoked the
swim and then proceeded to get smoked by Matt Reed on the bike. Fun race
and a nice tune up for Panama.
